Snow Clock Meeting Minutes - 07/13/23

Greg Belcher started meeting at 3:15 P.M. Greg stated Ross Hochstrasser was excused due to project at Thayer Academy. Greg said he asked Ross about upcoming maintenance for the clock. Greg asked Ross to give a price for cleaning the mechanism in the clock. Greg said he would use the Cultural Affair grant that Anne got us. Tim said that he can budget from his dept. $10000 for future repairs. He stated that removing the bushes in front of the clock should be done and replaced with plantings. Anne said that would be nice. Greg suggested maybe some Azalea or Rhododendron with color. Tim also mentioned that someone would like to donate a bench on behalf of a loved one. A picture was shown on Tim's cell phone and we talked but no approval at this time. Greg thanked Dave Spillane from the Parks Dept. on trimming trees. Greg mentioned about alcohol nips and bottles in the park. Greg suggested on Community Policing to check out public drinking near Snow Clock. Councilors Jack Lally and Shirley Asack would set that in motion. Meeting adjourned at 4:00 P.M.

- Scott mentioned electrifying it. but Greg said that Ross Hochstrasser would discourage that and he is looking for a person to help him when maintenance is needed. Tim said he would help him if need be.
- Greg mentioned that Council President Jack Lally Ward 6 should be on board when the presentation is proposed. The next meeting will be in February.. but close communication will be before that meeting. We must keep an efforts on Preserving this clock. It is registered on the NRHP
